Hello,
I am 26 years old and work as a part-time nanny while studying a MSc in Psychodynamic counselling and psychotherapy with children and adolescents. Over the last 4 years I have gained a variety of experience working as a nanny and teaching assistant ( ages ranging between 3 and 11 years) within a home and school environment.
Following my first degree in clinical and health Psychology I spent a year working as a year 1 teaching assistant. Along side this I volunteered with Kids Company providing art classes for disadvantaged children before it sadly closed down. Throughout the Summer of 2015 I worked as a full time nanny taking sole care of 2 children aged 6 and 8 and have further experience with twins and children with special education needs.
To add to this I also have a very large family with many adorable nieces and nephews currently ranging between the ages of 2 months to 5 years of age who I spend a great deal of time with.
I am currently in my second year of studies and attend Birkbeck University every Tuesday. On a Wednesday I volunteer with Place2be as a volunteer child therapist and so I am looking for part time work to carry along side my studies. Though I am unavailable on Tuesdays and Wednesdays during term-time I am extremely flexible in my work hours and am more than happy to work weekends, evenings and holidays if needed.
I am very calm, patient and gentle with children. I have a child-centered work ethic and adore painting and outdoor activities. I am well organised and experienced in all areas of childcare including preparing children for school, arranging play dates, helping with homework, reading, putting to bed etc. I am vegetarian but know the importance of a balanced diet for children and therefore happily cook a range of foods and snacks throughout the day. If you are looking for a little extra help around the house i.e washing and cleaning I am also more than happy to do this, though my priorities are with the children. I have up to date first aid training and DBS forms and am more than happy to provide references on request. if you would like to know a little bit more about me do send an email and we can arrange to meet for coffee or chat over the phone.
Best wishes,
Kristi .
