Hello,
My name is Rebecca , I am 24 in June. I have been working in the EYFS for two years.

I hold a BA (Hons) Degree in Performing Arts - 2:1

I am moving from Didcot, Oxfordshire to Long Sutton, Lincolnshire on 25/05/17 as my Fiance has been presented with an incredible career oportunity.

I have been a member of the national trust since 2014, and enjoy being outdoors. I enjoy all aspects of performing arts (drama, dance and music).
Most of my experience is based from 16 months upwards but I do have some experience with birth - one, mainly covering in nursery settings or helping friends and family with relief breaks.

Explanation:

The bulk of my experience is from 16 months upwards spending time in Toddlers (1-2), Kindergarten (2-3) and Preschool (3-5) rooms but also as well as providing cover in the other rooms such as Babies (0-1).
I have a full understanding of The Early Years Foundation Stage, and I am able to work with different children at their individual stages of development. I have also had the opportunity to work with children who require extra support or have additional needs.
Within the room currently I look after up to 16 little people a day, personally responsible for key-working 9 children, all of whom may be in during the same day. I provide different types of activity based planning every week for each child. Focusing on 'next steps' from spontaneous observations, but also ensuring activities focus on their current interests to keep learning both fun and engaging. I ensure all planned activities are relevant to develop and extend their skills and learning. All activities are tailored to suit the child's age and stage developmentally, as every child is unique.
I am confident in providing informative handovers to parents at the end of a child's session, ensuring all correspondence is professional, whilst also maintaining a good rapport. Similarly, by having the trust of parents they are able to provide me with any important information before a child's session.
I use my initiative within the room to see what I can do to support my team, be it assisting the children with toileting, cleaning the tables after a meal, getting the beds ready for the children to sleep or updating the displays to ensure the environment is stimulating. I communicate well with my team by making them aware of any changes to the day or passing on a message from another team member/parent.
I am able to interact successfully with a wide range of people by selecting appropriate words and nuances, whether it is a team member, parent or child. I present information clearly and concisely and my ideas in an interesting way.
I know how to interpret and use body language, facial expressions and other non-verbal techniques in my work to appropriately respond to what others have said, or have not said. I use these techniques along with 'baby-sign' to communicate with the children as not all have developed the language skills to communicate their needs. I have a passion for helping others and this shows in the work I do and in my personality. I would assert that I am a self-motivated individual, constantly striving to go above what is expected.
I try to build trust and openness with others by being that 'listening ear' when someone is feeling down. I am able to provide a laugh and a joke but also respond to what someone has said in a non-judgmental manner. I feel that I have a very care giving nature and this shows in the way I empathize with others and provide care to those who need it. I am able to resolve conflict, (should it arise) by dealing with it in an open, honest and positive way.
In the work I do, I know that no two days are ever the same, I have the capacity to adapt to new situations and settings with ease, as I am a very flexible individual who can adapt to the needs of the situation unfolding. I have no problems with public speaking or taking control of the room when it is story time or circle time, but I also know when it is time to back down or make a compromise.
