My name is Amber , I am 18 yeard old and I live in Louth. I have had quite a lot of childcare experience for my age and have thoroughly enjoyed every new experience.
I have a lot of confidence when working with children and know when to laugh and have fun and when to be stern and enforce rules and whatnot. I am very creative and love read and paint so I could definitely help introduce your children to such activities! I also like to make sure the children I care for don't spend most of their time indoors on laptops or watching TV. I make sure they get time outside even if all they want to do is be in their own back garden.
I volunteered at Eastfield Infants and Nursery School for 7 months back in 2014 where I was working with children from 5-6 and assisting them with their work or just being there for support and gentle encouragement. I really enjoyed working in the school environment but soon decided to move on to a different role in the childcare environment.
I became an au pair for a family in Ireland for a short period of time early this year where I was caring for three children, all very young (1 and a half, 3 and 4) and although this was a challenge for me I did enjoy my time there. Through this I discovered I did a lot better and felt more confident with the 3 and 4 year olds as I didn't have much previous experience with babies.
I am currently working as a nanny for a family in London for the summer and will be returning home on the 12th of September (if not the weekend after!) and would really love a job in this field to come back to. Here I am looking after 10 year old twins and a 15 year old although she is a lot more independent so needs less care. This family really welcomed me in to their home and the children definitely see me as more of a big sister opposed to their nanny as I am younger than previous nannies. I think this makes them a lot more comfortable too. I have a lot of responsibilities here as the mother works a lot in Central London. I have to wake the children up, make them breakfast, take them to school, pick them up again in the afternoon, give them a snack, get them to shower and do their chores and then make them dinner. I also have to walk the family dog once a day, feed him and give him his medication. I'm also in charge of most of the housework like laundry, washing the dishes, getting the kids to help me change their bedding once a week etcetc.
So I can offer my services as a babysitter or a nanny, but I would really love to have something part/full time so I have a constant income so nannying would be better.
I have no formal qualifications or driving license but I am CRB/DBS checked and can provide a copy of this if needed. Also my current employer says she is happy to give me a reference!
