Dear family,
I am Stina, a bubbly, mature and independent, experienced childminder.
I originally come from Estonia, which I left at the age of 16 to study abroad in America, where I successfully achieved honour roll. I finished secondary school with a good 4.1 GPA in Estonia while working 2 jobs at the age of 17-19 - barmaiding and working in a nursery as an assistant teacher while also living on my own. All of this created a baggage of common sense and core knowledge of independent life at quite an early age.
After graduating, I moved to the UK as an Au pair.
In London I have worked as a childminder(au pair, live out nanny/help and full sole charge live in supernanny) with 3 different families, as well as additional work experience in bars, restaurants and cafes.
I have also worked in a nursery as a teachers assistant over the course of 3 years.
5 years working experience in childcare.
I have experience with children aged 0 to 9.
I hold a full First aid certificate, valid until 2017.
Key skills include:
Can do attitude
Organised and very tidy
Creative
Committed to a healthy lifestyle
Fun and pro-active
A little further about my last job:
This was a live in, full time (60hrs a week+2 nights babysiting) sole charge nanny, housemaid, PA role in Islington N5, London.
I looked after two absolutely adorable girls. This included: Planning their daily activities while both of them attended separate schools, school runs, doctors appointments, after school clubs, playdates, home learning activities, packing their bags and lunches, teaching them piano and singing, taking them out as much as we could(althoygh they both had 1-3 after school clubs each day), cooking them very healthy and hearty meals every day throughout, making sure all their activities were paid for and kept an eye on their overall wellbeing, spoke to all teachers and friends and reported back to the parents. I was in charge of the childrens lives fully from 7am to 7pm.
On the side I also had full repsonsibility over the whole household: this included all the shopping, unpacking, tidying up and all cleaning and laundry tasks.
It was also under my responsibility to run the family's PA tasks such as post office runs and general shopping errands and other errands for the parents. (medical prescriptions, errand shopping, picking up and dropping stuff off, arranging electrician appointments etc)
My approach to children is always with a hint of humour but always firm. I like to take on activities such as going to the park, being social, active, riding bikes, singing, painting and making sure there is constant development, but with a little time off to calm down every now and then.
I speak fluent Estonian and English.
As a person I am very laid back, down to earth but proactive and hard working. I like to spend my free time with friends and family, often in the nature or someplace new to explore. I am in a happy relationship with my partner who has a career in sports. Ideally in the future I would like to have a freelnace career split between childcare and design.
I’m always proactive about work and hate to feel useless. I like to fill days with positive vibes by doing things positive both for body and soul. I am a pretty social person and love to meet up with friends and meet new people. I’m incredibly tidy and absolutely hate mess.
I hold written, contactable references from my previous employers, available at your interest.
Many thanks,
Stina
