Jodie, nanny in Plean

Hello my name is Jodie . I have recently graduated Forth Valley College with my HNC in childcare. I am looking to work with families who need my help with babysitting, school runs, every day chores and helping their children with more academic tasks such as homework. As a child Carer I am very patient, caring, loving, respectful, energetic and enthusiastic. Through college I have gained experience with working with children from the age of 6months to 5 years old. Throughout my placements I engaged in every day activities with the children and spent alot of my day joining in with the children's social and learning development. I also created fun learning experiences for the children to take part in during my placement. For example I created a "story sack" which I provided fun learning games and actives in a basket that I decorated to look colourful and inviting. I also planned daily routines for the children's learning and set up activities that would assist with the children's learning development and skills. I also baby sit my two younger cousins aged six and eight. The eldest child has autism and can become very upset when his routine is changed. This has allowed to work with my younger cousin who needs more support. It's also allowed me to learn routine and organisation skills. as I often baby sit them at night I get the boys ready for bed by encouraging them to get their pyjamas on and then brush their teeth before tucking them into bed. The eldest child loves Thomas the tank engine so I allow both boys to pick a story each for me to read to them before bed. I always end up reading Thomas the tank engine. The boys like it when I give all the characters different voices and involve them by asking them questions about the story book. I love working with kids and being part of their growing development. I love the fact that not only I can provide the children with fun new learning experiences but the children I have worked with have all taught me something new also.
