I am a qualified French and Geography teacher in England for all age ranged. In my country I used to teach French as a foreign language to children in KS3, KS4 and KS5. For one year I taught English as foreign language to children in kindergarten (3-6 years-old-children). I've got an Enhanced DBS.
I am looking for taking care of little babies or young children on a full-time basis or occasionally.
I love children very much and they can feel it so that I quickly become their friend. I keep calm under pressure and can be firm when it's necessary. I can sing and play piano a little bit. I am careful, responsible, reliable, determined, enthusiastic, playful, passionate about working with children. Even if I am pro-active, I'll respect the parents' wishes with regards to their children upbringing.
I have professional experience for several months with a 6 months-old-girl and 1 and 2 years-old-girl (the last two girls were sisters). I also worked as a babysitter in UK for family with a 7 yo girl and her brother 4 yo. I did that for several months.I have family experience for more then 3 years. I looked after my cousin when he was 6 months-old ill he was 2 yo, but only during my school holidays. I helped my sister to raise her children since their birth. Therefore, I spent time with them, I fed them, I changed them, I prepared food for them, I played with them using toys, and they grew older, different games. I used to read them a lot, do puzzles together, satisfy their curiosity about the world (e.g. my 4 yo nephew was curious to find out how the earth look and to see its roundness; so, I explained to him), sing and dance with them, played Lego. Spending so much time with them, I found out what they are interested. Consequently, my nephew was interested in learning, building, reading, so I'd read him stories every day, I'd taught him the letters, the continents, some European capitals and to add before he went to school. I also tried to make him understand that learning is fun. I created a song for him in order to remember the capitals. My niece was an artist, she was interested in singing, dancing, drama, so I sang, danced with her. I also read her stories and let her read me the end of the story (even if she couldn't read). In other words, I tried to encourage them to be creative, to paint, to draw, to sing and I always appreciated their work, made them feel special. Besides, I learnt what made them calm down (e.g. my nephew speaking to him, my niece singing for her).
With the guidance of my sister, who is a psychotherapist, I learnt how to deal with children and to understand their needs.
