I grew up at an all girls independent school in a small town in Hampshire. There, I left with 9 GSCE's ranging from A-C's, a Nursery Prefect title, a Duke of Edinburgh Award in which I took a life saving course, and most of all I left with many great friendships. After school I went to a highly respected college in Winchester in which I left with 3 A-levels in Health and Social Care, Psychology and General Studies. I have also had work experience in a nursery school and a primary school. At the primary school I enjoyed most of all looking after, teaching and building a very memorable relationship with a little girl who had special needs. It was my time spent with this little girl, that I grew to have the patience and understanding needed to properly engage and participate in a child's development. I felt very rewarded when leaving my placement there. In the future I'd like to pursue a career in midwifery, however for the time being I am very much enjoying being a Nanny. For me, I love nannying as it doesn't feel like a job. Nannying gives me the amazing opportunity to contribute to family life, by being able to give the child/children the care, support, stimulation and attention they need. I understand that professional parents may not be able to give the child the attention they want, which is why I feel privileged to be able to do that for them and build a great bond with their child. I have had a lot of involvement with children from new borns to toddlers as I have an 18 month old sister and a 3 year old brother, both of which I was heavily involved in the births and their development over the years. I have nannied for various friends’ children for the last 5 years but have been nannying more permanently for the last two years for a family with a 2 year old daughter (I looked after her from birth) and have an amazing relationship with both her and her parents. I am very creative, I love making art, listening to music and dancing, so for me, involving children in these sorts of activities is my favourite! I also enjoy taking them on fun, educational days out, for example the local farm, or zoo. As a patient person, I find it easy to spend the essential time teaching children, watching them progress and develop intellectually and emotionally. I am able to understand children's wants and needs very easily, and am also happy to take instruction from the parent's as to how to discipline their child, along with what enforcements they use whilst doing so. I believe this to be very important for the child's future, as they should grow up to be independent, polite and well behaved. I feel privileged to have the honour of being accepted into a family, to be a helping hand, and to contribute to a positive family life.
My hobbies include playing golf, tennis, reading, driving, shopping and socialising!
