Having completed CACHE Level 3 Diploma in Childcare and Education, BTEC Health and Social Care Level 2 and hold many relevant qualifications, I believe I have the education and qualifications to comply with the role applied. I am always committed to develop my personal professional skills, and throughout my CACHE placements I achieved targets set and am able to provide the employer with evidence of this.

During my placements I completed 125 days with the children, throughout the 2 years.I am proud to be able to provide evidence of my placements and written progress comments throughout given the setting.

I have excellent literacy and numeracy skills, shown through my GCSE and essential skills qualifications obtained with a high grade. I am also a fluent welsh speaker, completing thirteen years of education through the medium of welsh. This allows me to communicate fluently bi-lingually, assisting greatly with communication skills.

Although I am a great team worker, understanding the importance of team work in childcare and the skills needed to work effectively as a team, I am also able to use my own initiative in order to work successfully as an individual. I enjoy working with others but I’m equally able to work on my own initiative. I’m not afraid to ask for guidance if necessary but I’m sure as previous employers will explain, I am quick to learn and, once I’ve understood what’s required of me, I am more than capable of getting on with the job individually.

As part of my ‘Practice Evidence Records’ section for my CACHE placements, it was expected of me to feedback to parents of their child’s progress during the day. In order to do this, I understood that it was important I formed a trusting relationship with the parents, for them to feel comfortable in communicating with myself regarding their child’s development. I successfully completed this section, and the staff was more than happy with my progress, allowing me to continue reporting to those parents during my time at the setting.

During my first year studying CACHE Level 3 Childcare, I had to produce an assignment on ‘The development of children from conception to age sixteen years’ and in my second year ‘Working with babies from birth to 12 months’. Completing both assignments with an ‘A’ grade, I belief I have the knowledge and understand of the developmental and learning needs of children, allowing me to plan and differentiate to meet the individual needs of each child. I am an enthusiastic individual and am passionate about supporting children to develop, this being, physically, intellectually, emotionally or socially. I am a motivated individual who is committed to the welfare, safeguarding and promotion of children. Alongside this I have a proven ability to encourage children to achieve their potential by stimulating their enthusiasm for learning and also their determination to succeed.

I have a great sense of humor and seeing children happy and enjoying their time is a must. I understand the balance between discipline and humor, this is why I would make a great addition to your environment.

I have great knowledge of planning and have implemented this into my practical placements. I completed an assignment on the planning cycle and how important it is used daily in practice. In a placement, I was also involved in developing an IEP plan for a group of children, in which we held small team meetings in order to review and reflect upon this, regularly.

I take pleasure in being a positive role model for children as I possess excellent manners in which I demonstrate daily, I take pride in my appearance ensuring I have immaculate personal hygiene, I am tidy and like to organize myself, I am respectful of everyone and am committed to equality of opportunities.

Maintaining a safe environment and the children’s welfare is paramount. I understand this, and as a qualified Level 3 practitioner, I benefit from researching into legislation and keep up-to-date with relevant polices and research.

I have the drive and desire to ensure that the child’s journey is made as positive as possible and knowing I have these qualities I will make myself useful, caring and respectful within your environment.
