Abbie, nanny - M16 Manchester

I'm Abbie I've currently spent the last 10 months working as an activity leader at a residential camp for a company called KingsWood and am currently saving up for camp America from 2013 - 2016 I was an au-pair/ nanny in Italy, Barcelona, Mexico. I am a friendly, warm, caring, patient and passionate young woman who loves forming positive lasting relationships with as many people as I come into contact with.
my hobbies include reading, arts & craft , ice skating, traveling and I love to sing. I have had first aid training, CRB checks, a level 2 certificate in childcare early years learning& development, youth worker training. I have volunteered in 2 primary schools as a teaching assistant, volunteered in after school and youth centres. I have spent 2 years working with 3 families(8children ages 2months- 10 years) in Italy, 9 months in Barcelona(3 children5-11 years) 6 months Mexico(1child 24months).

I initially wanted to be at teacher, all my family work in some form of care service such as - child social, residential workers , nursing or old peoples homes. After spending some time volunteering in a variety of places, I realised I prefer working with children in a 1-2-1 setting. Travelling has brought great opportunities/connections along the way, that I would like to continue exploring.
I am usually quite quick to bond with the families and the children, I am fun-loving and enthusiastic yet make sure the children know what i expect from them, preferring to make decisions and rules clear with the whole family involved to insure that we all have an understanding.
