I currently work as a HCA dealing with clients with severe brain injuries. Although I love my job the travel and shift work is difficult to work around with my own children. I have 3 children aged 12, 9 and 3. The most important thing is to be around them as much as possible and working 13 hour days makes it hard to do. I must work to provide for my family. I would love to go back to college and my currently employment makes that impossible. I also understand other parents are the same.
