I have lots of experience working with children. During my time at University, I have volunteered within multiple primary schools as a classroom volunteer and last year I worked as a coordinator on a summer school at university. I have always been interested in teaching and have studied modules in both education and psychology whilst at university. In Summer 2012 I travelled to India and volunteered in a school, working with disabled children. I worked one-on-one with a 7 year old boy who had only been in school for 2 months. Volunteering in the school was difficult, as the young boy I worked closely with had multiple disabilities including deafness. It was amazing to see the development of this child throughout my 3 weeks working with him, and I was able to build a strong relationship with him.
I have a 2 year old niece whom I am very close to, and I love taking care of her and watching her explore, learn and develop. I am confident that I would take pride and pleasure in watching your children grow during my time with you.
During my time at university I have undertaken many extracurricular activities including volunteering for charities and with children. I have found that throughout my time at university my passions lie elsewhere than with Mathematics and I would like to explore other opportunities before starting a career in the UK.
I have always worked since I turned 16, gaining my first part-time job in retail. Working in River Island was extremely enjoyable to me, as I enjoyed the independence which I gained from earning my own money. Throughout my time at university I have worked in a nightclub and in the student union on the reception. Alongside both of these jobs and my degree I have gained many temporary positions, I tourguided for my department, taught lab classes to younger students, and worked on a summer school for A level students.
My degree has a heavy work load and I have been able to balance my social life, part time work and my deadlines well. I am extremely organised and enjoy being active.
