hello my name is Caitlin Ann I am a 17 year old female who loves working with children, I have just finished studying level 2 childcare at college where I have completed a total of 365 hours of placement at Star of the Sea R.C Primary School, I am currently still there volunteering until the end of July, Also before this I did my placement at Battle Hill Playgroup working with 2-3 years old, which both placements too me because I have a clean DBS check which last up to 3 years. furthermore the type of care I want to work for is full time care, part time care, my qualities as a child carer is that I have complete my CACHE level 2 child care, I am a complete my Paediatric first aid course at Level 3 and now I am a qualified paediatric first aider, I also have personal and professional experience when it come to working with children as I have a niece who is 3 years old and a nephew who is 6 months old, I do jigsaw puzzles with my niece who is 3 years old, I take her to the park, I go on the trampoline with her, through my experience I have learnt that you can make activities easier and harder depending on the child level, and that the activities need to be fun in order to get the child attention, I sometimes play dress up with my 3 year old niece I let her pretend that she is the witch and that she can turn me into a frog and so I jump around my living room floor ribbitting like a frog, also we do the CHU CHU AH dance from holiday and she enjoys it, we bakes cakes and she loves putting the icing sugar on the top. throughout college I used the early year foundation stage development matters booklet to plan activities for the children at placement and they enjoy it, we used a document called the national curriculum to plan the child next step if the child was 5, we used a document which we used to do curriculum plans using this teachers at college could see the next step we wanted the children to learn and what activities we wanted to do with the child.
