Mikaela, nanny - NR19 East dereham

My name is Mikaela and I am 20 years old. I have completed my Level 2 Children and young people's workforce. I am currently studying the Early Years Educator which I am very much enjoying.

I have worked within a Early Years setting for two and a half years, gaining experience and growing on my career. Working within the setting of a childminders, which was ran more like a nursery setting. I am hardworking, caring, professional and a friendly worker. I very much enjoy my job role. I thrive from working with children and I often go the extra mile for my colleagues and also for the children.

I have the ability to work independently and within a team and I enjoy both of these. I am very committed to my job and am always looking to progress my career in any way I can. I have good communication skills with all those around me in my job role.

I have completed my First Aid training, Introduction to safeguarding and the Lead Practitioners safeguarding course. I enjoy learning and growing on my skills and knowledge that help me to work to a higher standard and progress with my career in Early years childcare.

I have experience of being a key worker having 12 key children of my own at my previous setting. As a key worker I completed and was responsible for their learning journeys, linking any observations up to the Early Years Foundation Stage book, completing next steps for the children, doing 2 year old checks and plans for the children. Meeting each area of development. I see the importance of a key worker and very much enjoy being a key worker, gaining a professional and caring relationship with specific children and helping them progress with their learning and development along with having the ability to watch them grow and change as they progress.

I am a creative person and enjoy doing arts and crafts within work and out of work in my spare time. I am also part of a dance school which I have been part of for 18 years.
