Throughout my own experience in education, I found myself supporting other students academically through tutoring. I was selected to be a Peer Supporter during high school, which involved various tasks from helping years 7 students to build their confidence in reading aloud, to help with planning revision timetables. Working as a Peer Supporter for other students during high school and sixth form sparked an interest within this field because of the tremendous rewards of seeing students succeed. At Brighton University I was nominated as the Course Representative because of my confidence and ability to work diligently alongside students and staff
at the University. Through this role at the University I acquired multiple skills that have developed my attitude and work ethic. I have been described as outgoing, energetic, and fun, whilst consistently achieving a high level of professionalism.
During my later years of university, and since my completion, I worked as an English teacher in Spain. I worked with students aged 4-14, of all academic capabilities. The classes were divided into 4 sets, categorized by age not ability, which meant I had to be very adaptable within the class. Students worked at completely different paces; therefore, I had to be very organized to make sure there were always more activities for the students to move onto, to make sure they remained engaged in the class. Although I have adored teaching my classes of 20-30 students, I found that my most rewarding time was during small group and 1:1 sessions I scheduled with students,
either because they were keen to learn further or needed help in certain areas of the course. During this time I was able to guide them towards achieving their best through setting individual progression points, extra homework to help them in areas they may have been struggling in and tailored revision plans for them to continue with during their spare time.
My organization skills and commitment to education has led me towards the path of working as a Nanny/Governess. I am very active and love working with children. For the past 4 years I have worked various nanny/mother’s help jobs on a part-time basis alongside my studies. The variety of working within different homes has been a great experience. My roles have included taking children to and from school/nursery, assisting with sporting activities, entertaining children with activities such as arts and craft, over night stays and preparing meals.

I am a very hands on Nanny. I like to be outside with the kids (when weather permitting) or to create a fun and educational environment inside.
If wanted, I am happy to take an educational role - helping with homework and tutoring.
