Gillian, nanny - PA2 Paisley

Hi! My name is Gillian, and I'm 26 years old.

I'm an enthusiastic, creative, fun loving and nurturing girl, with a real love of working with children.

I've always held voluntary roles in childcare, from running children's holiday clubs to babysitting for friends, but in 2012 I moved to Ireland to be an au pair nanny for a family with two children.

I worked 8am-6pm Monday-Friday with occasional babysitting for a G5 and a B2. The eldest was in school for half the day, but I spent all day with the little boy, playing, teaching him simple tasks and cooking for him. I also helped in the mornings getting the little girl ready for the school run, and with her homework, too.

During the holidays, we'd go for picnics, treasure hunts and trips to the library or museum, and on rainy days we'd do arts and crafts, sing songs together on my ukulele, or play games, and I made sure to take them for long walks and to play outdoors - fresh air is a nanny's best friend as children are often happier and healthier being outdoors!

I was also involved in overnight babysitting (especially as I lived with the family) and even helped toilet train the little boy!

Light housework was also included in my role, including the children's laundry and occasionally cooking for the family.

Since I've been back I've worked in an office, but I'd love to get back into working with kids. I've no qualifications but plenty of experience and great references from my host family in Ireland.

I'm looking for a full time live out position, as I'd like this to be my only job, so please consider me if you're looking for a nanny with a heart of gold and the ability to make your life that little bit easier!!
