Hello,
As a carer I feel I am well equipped with the knowledge and experience to work with children to support them and families. I have a friendly, approachable manner that helps me connect to children. I love providing fun and exciting activities including arts and crafts, as well as active games!
As a recent graduate of BA Childhood Studies I feel I have gained invaluable knowledge and experience in how best to support children's development. Throughout my course I have learned how theory impacts our practice in scaffolding children's learning and have personally researched topics such as Outdoor Learning and emotional intelligence supported by Play Therapy,
When working with children, I always plan activities around their interests first, to help them become excited and engaged. Throughout my time at nurseries I have helped create fun activities like a Scooby Doo snack hunt, an interactive 'we're going on a bear hunt' as well as helping children understand and develop their emotional intelligence.
I have recently worked in a kindergarten in Munich, Germany which has provided a wealth of experience and knowledge, especially the importance of bilingualism and how to cater for individual needs. I was tasked with supervising children and ensuring their holistic developmental needs were met, even though I did not speak the language.
