I have around 5 years experience in leading youth groups, working in children’s residential settings and working in schools and nurseries.
I have worked as a ‘House Parent’ for a private residential school for children aged between 14- 18 acting as the first point of call for after school hours activities. This role involved planning activities (cooking, sports, games, trips etc), ensuring security at all times, adhering to various policies and procedures as well as ensuring the students were working on their homework as required. In addition, I also have experience working as a teaching assistant for primary schools and as a nursery practitioner working with children aged 6 months-5 adhering to the EYFS framework and working with key children.
I am also passionate about a variety of sports and outdoor activities. I have worked for a number of outdoor pursuits companies as a kayak and canoe instructor for children aged 8-18. Through this line of work I have gained qualifications in kayak instructing, dingy sailing, SUP and windsurfing. I am also qualified with a National Pool Lifeguard Qualification and have worked as a lifeguard and centre attendant. I also hold a First Aid at work qualification and paediatric first aid qualification.
I am friendly, positive, active, creative, patient and outgoing. In addition I speak fluent French and have a genuine commitment to supporting the emotional, social and physical development of young people.
