Presentation

I attended Carr Hill High School, Kirkham, from 2002 to 2007 which I left with glowing reports. My achievements at school include that of being school prefect, gaining numerous head teachers awards, personal attainment awards and service to the school awards. On leaving Carr Hill I then went onto study at Preston College doing the BTEC Level 3 in Children’s Care, Learning and Development, in which I obtained a triple distinction and a Student of the Year Award, whilst doing the course I worked in 4 placements all of which I left with glowing reports from. I have since gone on to complete a Foundation Degree at The University of Central Lancashire in the Integrated Education and Care of Children and Young People, and a BA (HONS) in Education and Professional Studies, in which I obtained a 2:2, and also the Early Years Professional Status {EYPS} at Edge Hill University, I have also completed the NVQ Level 3 in Leadership and Management through my employer and level 5 in leadership and management. I have worked in the nursery environment since leaving full time education in 2009 undertaking many additional roles including; Health and Safety Coordinator, Training Mentor, Childcare Representative, Room Manager, Assistant Manager and Manager, which was my last position.
The childcare profession is something that I am totally dedicated to as I feel that all children deserve the best start possible, therefore when I undertake any further training I am not only doing it for my own progression but to ensure that the children in my care can achieve their best possible outcomes.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
Busy Bees 09 to April 18 – I have worked for Busy Bees since 2009, I started as a casual member of staff working to cover staff holidays, training and sickness at their Warton Bae site. I then moved to the Lytham setting later in 2009 to work as a full time member of the team. During my time at Lytham I was asked to become the health and safety coordinator and I worked with all age ranges including the holiday club, I was promoted to Room Manager in 2011, during this time I was based in the pre- school room, my position included roles such as managing the staff team in the room, day to day running of the classroom, opening and closing the nursery on a rota and working alongside and supporting the rest of the management team. In 2013 I moved back to the Warton Bae setting to become their Assistant Manager. Where I had the additional roles of assisting the manager in the day to day running of the nursery, also that of running the nursery in the manager’s absence. I also undertook the roles of training mentor, health and safety coordinator and childcare representative during my time here. I then moved back to the Lytham setting in the role of Manager, where I have the full responsibility of managing the staff team, ensuring good team morale, and ensuring the children’s safety and wellbeing.
