I am passionate and determined to work in the childcare industry, specialising in working with children with behavioural and developmental needs.
Working in the Childcare industry was a total career change for me last year as I wanted to try something new and I have always enjoyed being around and helping children to achieve their potential by stimulating their enthusiasm for learning new things. I do not regret this career change as I think I made the right choice as I have loved every moment working in a nursery setting
My ultimate accomplishment was being a one-to-one support practitioner for a child with severe autism. This child was my biggest challenge to date but with the right training and support from other members of staff I was able to help him socialise with other children and settle at the setting, I am still currently working on his communication needs with the use of PEC exchange photo cards, objects of reference, intensive interaction and some makaton signing.
Below is a list of the relevant training I have accomplished:
- First aid training
- ASD Training
- Channel Training
- Children Welfare Training
- Well-being and Involvement Training
- Fire Safety Training
- Speech and Language Training
- Health and Safety Training
- OFSTED Training
- Characteristics of Effective Learning Training
- Makaton Training
I am very hardworking, I enjoy learning new things and I view training and learning as a challenge and a goal to achieve. I am keen to do everything that I can to ensure that I work hard and am a success to my employer and for my career. I also have the capacity to develop my skills and understanding of education system.
I am a confident communicator, I am able to follow instructions and I can also work on my own initiative. I am self motivated and enthusiastic. I enjoy working with others in a team and have had a lot of experience of teamwork through previous employment and college.
