Charlette, nanny - SG6 Willian

Hello my name is Charlette and I am 29 years old. I have always loved working with children and this is what I am passionate about.
I have been working with children on/off since I was 16 years old.
My first job working with children was as a Kumon teaching assistant. I helped children from primary school age to secondary school age who needed extra support with English and Mathematics.
Whilst I tried to find an apprenticeship I was a childminder for 2 children of different ages. I went to their house while their parents went to work and helped get them ready for school, took them to school, collected them from school and then helped them with any homework they had. We also played games, went on walks, went to the park or got creative and made things. I love being creative myself and have a passion for baking, this is something the children as well as myself enjoyed doing and the parents didn't mind coming home to a homemade baked treat either.
I then started an apprenticeship at a private nursery at the age of 22. I completed my level 2 within 5 months and was then offered a full time position as a nursery assistant straight away at the nursery I studied in.
I worked for this nursery for 4 years where I worked my way up from an apprentice to the deputy of the 3-5's team.
I left my job at the private nursery after 4 years as I wanted to learn new skills and work with children in a different setting.
I currently work in a primary school. I work 1:1 with a child who has a serious health condition as well as special needs. I have followed them from nursery, to reception and now to year 1.
From working in 2 different nurseries and a school I now have a wider range of resources and have learnt games and creative ideas which are fun and both educational.
I have a level 2 NVQ qualification in child care, Level 2 in Understanding Autism and I am first aid trained.
