I am a responsible trustworthy team worker who can also work well alone. I have demonstrated these strengths both as a nursery nurse and a nanny. I am enthusiastic and can communicate well. I
also know when to use my own initiative. I am honest, reliable and
punctual. I also have my own little girl who is now 23months old. This has given me first hand experience of meeting the needs of a new born and trying to develop a routine. I have also had some experience in team leading and I am always willing to take on new challenges. I have done some work on the foundation stage curriculum (stepping stones) and I am also aware of Birth to three matters framework. I have been introduced to the Early Years foundation stage and had a little experience of how to plan towards this and use the new development files. Although this was a few years ago now. I have experience in planning and computerised planning, development records and observations. I have had experience working with children from different backgrounds and different cultures from the nurseries I have worked in and also as a nanny.
I have been qualified for nearly 10 years now and I have been employed throughout this time. I have had experience working with different aged children ranging from new born - 10 years old. I also currently do babysitting for the family I work for and for friends and family. With this I have looked after children aged new born – 10 years and also worked with a child who needs extra help and support as this child is deaf. This has given me numerous opportunities including learning some basic sign language, although again it has been a few years since I've done this. With this family I looked after 2children together.
I also look after another little one who went to my previous nursery. I had her throughout the day and sometimes for the night. When this happened I did the teatime, bath time and sleep time routines. These parents are also available and happy to give me a reference if needed. I have passed my Diploma in Childcare and Education course and I have also passed a first aid course, although I may need to renew this. I have previously been on a child protection workshop through a football team and I have also previously completed and been on a How Do We Value Children workshop and a Supporting Young Children with Downs Syndrome Course. I also have a CRB check. I really enjoy working with children and parents and I am always ready for a new challenge and to meet new people.
