Presentation

I have always wanted to work with Children. I have dedicated the last 2 years of my studies to get the qualifications needed to work in the Child Care and Education Sector. Throughout this time, and in my last year of full time employment at Kids Unlimited, I have developed my competencies and feel I am now ready to take on new challenges and hopefully progress further. I am hardworking and willing to learn any new skills required.

To summarize my character I would say I am Caring, Creative, Responsible and Reliable. I enjoy to work as part of a team, and I really enjoy the work I do. I hope that throughout my career I can continue to stimulate the development of the children in my care.

Work Experience

Daily Nanny - 04/2014 to Present
I am currently a nanny to three lovely children ages 2, 5 and 8. My main responsibilities include; Dropping off and picking up the older children from school, preparing healthy and nutritious meals throughout the day. Also providing fun, educational and interesting activities for the younger child which will help to encourage their development and support their learning preparing them for nursery. I have engaged the youngest into a playgroup which gives them the chance to interact with other children of a similar age and also encourage key skills ready for nursery such as; sharing, making friends and communicating. I have provided a well structured daily routine and also provide the children with reward systems e.g. sticker charts, which encourages the children to do the best that they can. Another main responsibility I have is to liaise with both parents as they are separated, at the end of each day I provide either parent with everything they need to know e.g. what we have done that day, what they have ate and how much they ate, if they had a nap and how long the nap was and if there was any problems. During school holidays both me and the parent agree on a set budget so that I can organise fun days out which the children suggest. Everything I plan for the children is completely centred around the children's interests and what they want to do and also supporting and encouraging their development in any way I can.

Nursery Nurse – Kids Unlimited Nursery – 09/2011 to 04/2014
In my role at Kids Unlimited Nursery in Timperley, I work with children aged between 3 months-4 years. As part of my role as Nursery Nurse I have to change nappies,
play with children and scaffold their learning Using the reviewed EYFS framework. I plan activities following the children’s interests, carry out observations on the children on a weekly basis and use these to inform planning. I continuously provide children with encouragement and support in their everyday learning, as well as a structured day to day routine.
I have been particularly creative when using children’s’ work to produce displays around the nursery for parents/carers to observe. I regularly liaise with the parents/carers to find out as much information about the child to ensure the best quality of care for their child and ensure smooth transitions. Every 12 weeks I provide summative assessments on the children to inform their parents of how they are developing according to the EYFS and which age/stage of development they are working at. I also participate in optional Working in Partnership meeting with parents to discuss their child’s learning and development or if they have any concerns.
I ensure children are provided with a variety of activities every day so they have different opportunities to learn and always have something new to do. I plan for and overlook children’s access to the outdoor environment. I ensure children have sleep and rest opportunities, assist in feeding routines and have even helped out in the kitchen when the chef was absent.
I am a regarded as a very responsible member of staff, and have had the opportunity of carrying out the role of room supervisor whilst she was away.

Work Experience During CACHE Diploma – 2009 to 2011
Throughout my time at college, I gained experience in various nurseries and schools, working with children aged between six months and six years. I really enjoyed this part of the course as it gave me the confidence to work alongside other adults as well as children.
