Kimberley, nanny in Sunderland SR1

Hello, my name is Kimberley, I am 23 and have just finished University. I have been struggling a lot since I finished University with deciding what it is I really want out of life. I have seriously been considering teaching but before committing myself to participating in more courses I am looking to get some experience.
Over the coming weeks I intend to see if I can do any voluntary work in local schools to get a feel of what age group would suit me best.
My experience so far with children has been rather limited. I have a younger half brother who is currently 11 who I've taken care of over the years and I have a friend who had a baby three years ago whom I babysat for once a week 8-3 while she worked. This required feeding her, changing her, entertaining her, mainly with Mickey Mouses clubhouse. I stopped looking after her when she was one and a half unfortunately because I went to study in Germany for a semester which was a really amazing experience.
The only other experience is when I went to visit my friend in Spain for a week, who was working as an au pair to three children aged 6-11, two boys and one girl. While I was there I helped my friend teach the children English and make their food. The children had their own books that they had to fill in a page a day to learn English. The boys were older and more independent so they would just merrily fill in the book by themselves and then go play a game together, leaving their little sister out. We would entertain Reeta by taking her to the nearby swimming pool or teaching her English. She also enjoyed creative activities we did with her like making bracelets out of string and she would mix flowers with water which I believe she was trying to make perfume from.
I am available most of the time and I thought that especially with the holidays coming up it would be a great time to offer my services as I'm very flexible. I believe I would be good at taking care of your children because in general I haven't met any child who has disliked me which I believe is because I am very easy going and friendly. I'm short and completely not intimidating. Maybe my personality type would be more suited to timid children, I've never looked after a boisterous child before but I'd be willing to look after difficult children because well I'm a graduate, I like a challenge!
Also I would just like to say how I believe that all children are unique and special and with the right encouragement, understanding and confidence building they can become anything they want to be.
