Hopefully you will find this personal statement a true and clear indication of my desire to become a childminder/Au Pair
I am currently in a profession, which I enjoy immensely, like any other role I have ever had I put my whole self into. I have 7 members of staff whom I respect and whom respect me for the person I am and the things I do.
I have just completed my staff appraisals, and these have made me realise what a good leader and teacher I have become. The skills I have acquired over the years have helped me develop into a very grounded, flexible, understanding and caring person.

I have a child of 16 years old, he is called James, I am a single mother, and James and I have been on our own since he was 2 years old. James was diagnosed with epilepsy at age when he was young, and now is off medication and at college. This experience of raising a toddler and preparing him for his education was not an easy one, although very enjoyable, having to make him feel he was going to a safe place where he would meet lots of new friends, paint, draw, learn to read and write and play lots. In doing this I was introduced to the world of childcare, I was often envious that the ladies looking after my child in the crèche could spend all day playing with the children and enjoying watching them grow and learn.

I have always loved children, and felt a connection with them even from being a cheeky teenager; I was heavily involved in looking after my little brother and cousins and loved all of them in a different way. Children like to come to me, I seem to connect with them in a way that I consider very special.

Now my child is in college. I miss being around small children, and would love to have a career looking after children again.

I also have a number of friends who are teachers and I listen with envy of some of the funny heart-warming stories that they recall with such feelings.

My main aim in life as, is that I could begin a new career doing something I have always wanted to do. Academically I have good grades, 10 O'levels, Btec Diploma in Business and finance.

I would love to be given the opportunity to fulfil this ambition, and feel that I could bring some major advantages to children at such a vunerable and key stage in their education.

I am a very patient, understanding and fair individual. and at 45 yrs old , It would be amazing to gain a sense of job satisfaction, something that at the moment is what is lacking in my working life.
