My name is Shelby . I am a young adult, who is eager to learn new things and I am not afraid of a challenge. I am currently at university studying law, and I'm in my second year. I am looking for a part-time job as it is extremely important that I manage my time because my education is very important to me. I have a full driving licence and a car of my own which is fully serviced, taxed ad insured and my previous jobs (most recent first) include caring for my grandad from June 2016 until December, unfortunately he passed away, but spending the past six months with him was worth all the late nights and extra work. As his carer I had he pleasure of assisting him with his personal care, cleaning, feeding, shopping, medication, social needs and appointments, all of which are things I would do again if I had the chance to as it so rewarding. Previous to caring I had a job for two years as a cleaner and additional to this was bank staff for laundry and kitchen departments in White Ash Brook residential home. I also volunteered at that same home for a year before starting work there so I was able to form great relationships with each of the residents. I have experience with looking after children of a variety of ages. Although I have only had experience with family and friends I am willing to take part in childcare courses as I know how important it is to have hear requirements. I do have a gcse in health and social care and I have shared the responsibilities of raising my younger brother (now 15) and sister ( now 18) alongside my dad as he is disabled. I had to help out more when I turned 12 as my mother moved away. Furthermore I have been privileged to look after my niece (now 6), nephew (now 2) and cousins of similar ages. I can assist with homework, cook, clean, do laundry and encourage safe and sensible activities such as hide and seek, arts and crafts, or even games involving imagination and spontaneous play, whereby the children are encouraged to think of their own games and I would encourage them and join in. I would love the opportunity to use the skills in which I have acquired over the years and be given an opportunity to expand on these skills, knowledge and experience. Some of the skills I have obtained include; great listener, good communication, organised, punctual, reliable, hardworking. I am also enthusiastic, calm, friendly, can work as an individual or part of a team. I look forward to hearing from you soon. Kind regards, Shelby.
