Alexandra, occasional childcare - CT1 Thanington

Hello,

My name is Alexandra. I am a student in Canterbury Christ Church, in my second year of "Early Childhood Studies". I am 21 years old, turning 22 in February. I am half greek, half Portuguese but born in Brussels (Belgium). I can speak 5 languages and went to an international School. I have loved children since I can remember. I have had many experiences and gained many skills while working with them.

I am in my second year of studying Early Childhood Studies, and I am planning on doing a 10month programme for "Teaching Training". After this, I am planning on doing another 3 years of Nursing.
I have done babysitting for two years back home (Belgium), where I had to babysit for my neighbour who had 5 kids, from a baby to a 12years old child. I go at 7 o'clock and would be asked to stay until 1 in the morning.
I worked in a nursery for 3 weeks, where I had to create activities, feed and play with young children. In Portugal (my mother is Portuguese), I worked for 3 weeks, going from different classroom and age groups each week. In the first week, I worked with children from the age of 2-4, second week with children from the age of 5-8 and last week with children up to 12 years old.
I am going to work in a nursery for 3 months, starting in January 2018. I have been put in placement in a nursery in Canterbury, where I have to work a minimum of 70hours in 3 Months. I want and I will do more, but this will give me more skills and experiences.
I have gone to Thailand to create a school for orphans children and street children. I went there for 2 weeks, building classroom, creating activities and playing, as well as building spaces for children with no homes or no families.
I worked in my school with disable children as well, teaching them how to use their money, do washing, cycle, and how to integrate them into society and be part of activities with children with no disabilities.

I am a very open person, very outgoing as many people have described me and very generous, kind and affectionate. I treat people with love and care and always put the ones I love before me. I have lived in Canterbury for 2 years now and love it so far! :) I hope you will consider me to take care of your children as I am a very bublby, happy and fun person to be around.
