Hi there. My name is Katrina. I am a 30 years of age with many qualifications and years of experience working with babies and young children.
My little family (Me, daddy and our little girl-8 months old) had to recently move to the UK from the Republic of Ireland in October 2015. My partner found work as a secondary school teacher over here so before we knew it we had all of our belongings packed and here we are.
Prior to the big move I was working in a lovely creche in Ireland. I was currently on maternity leave and had intended to start back there after my maternity leave had finished. I was going back part time and bringing my little girl with me... it would have been perfect. Unfortunately this didn't work out and my partner found work in the UK so our new adventure has begun. I spent just over 10 wonderful years looking after young children from 4 months up until the ages of 11/12 years of age. It was lovely. I built up a lovely relationship with many of the parents over the years. The creche was a home from home. Even the parents agreed. The staff and parents were one huge family. The staff were all there for years so we helped many families with their increasing number of family members. There was such a lovely atmosphere around the place. Each day in the creche was different. The kids kept us on our toes. We had a small routine including 'circle time' 'free play' 'messy play'. I'm a huge believer in a small routine. I believe routine makes its easier on both the parent/staff member and child. The children in my last group (2-3 years old) loved the routine I had made. They knew in the mornings when they said bye to mummy and daddy they had 'free play' for a little while. They knew after lunch we all would sit down for a story and sing a few songs. I think it made the children fell more content and settled as they knew what was happening next. We still had a lot of 'free play' where the children got to choose what they wanted to do or play with. Fridays were the fun days in our room when we use to have 'disco time' 'dvd for half an hour.... Even some of the parents got excited dropping the kids into us on a Friday morning. I babysat some evenings/weekends and over night for a few of the parents. I have even helped out a couple of parents for birthday parties. It was a great feeling knowing that the parents had a great trust in me. The children would be telling their friends during the week that I was at their house. It was lovely. Never a dull moment in the creche. There were over 70 children. The youngest starting from 4 months and the eldest about 11/12 years of age. I have also many years experience in toilet/potty training so can really advise you or help you out with little tips and tricks as this stage in a child's life can really be stressing, for both parents and child.
My qualifications and Experiences:
*I am a qualified childcare worker with FETAC level 5
*Over 10 years of experience with young babies and children
*Children's First Aid
*Special Needs basic course
*A busy mummy to a little girl that has more attitude than a teenager ;)
What am I looking for?
I am looking for a small family who are looking for somebody to take care of their family on a part-time basis in their home (Any times Monday-Friday, whether it was three full days or 5 mornings a week etc... I am open to discussing what you want/need)... I am searching for a family or single parent that are/is happy for me to bring along my little girl. I would prefer children around my daughters age but will be happy with older children also. I am a very proud mummy and am not ready to go back to work full time
and leave my daughter, especially having just moved to a new country.
I would also be available weekends for an odd night to babysit if you needed me to. My partner works Monday-Friday as a secondary school teacher so he would have our daughter if you needed this service Fri/Saturday/Sunday evening.
I would really love to find a nice family over here in the UK. I am a really friendly, easy going person who is 110% reliable and trustworthy. As a new mummy I understand completely how hard it is to find someone you like and completely trust to look after your child/children. I can give you this reassurance.
I can give references from my last employment and from some of my parents also.
Please, please ask me any questions you may have. I will only be too happy to answer them.
Hope to hear from you soon.
Katrina
