Chloe, occasional childcare in Oxford

I am a 20 year old female currently studying animal biology and conservation at Oxford Brookes University and will be living in Headington next year from September. I am unavailable this summer but if by September you are still in need of someone I would love to find out more.

I have babysat for 5 families (boys and girls ranging from 12 months to 13 years old) since I was 16 years old and last year I worked as a matron at a girls boarding school for a term. Having been to Hanford school myself I am very passionate about the ethos it reflects, and I feel when caring for children I follow it well. Most importantly I believe that childhood should be cherished, and children should be encouraged to stay young and not grow up too soon. At the school I was involved in the organisation of after school activities for the children, as well as the general care. After school activities were always encouraged to take place outside (except when too cold or wet). Regards to the general care of the girls I was responsible for waking them and ensuring they got ready for school and had a sufficient breakfast. I was responsible for sorting their laundry, cleaning their rooms and putting them to bed in the evening. I was also present at all meals ensuring that they all ate well. Manners at the school were taken very seriously and politeness and kindness were the key attributes urged on the girls. Additionally, as I am experienced with horses, I helped some of the novice riders to improve their riding, as well as teaching them general horse care; something I believe to be a very helpful aid in encouraging children to take responsibility and gain confidence. I am very passionate in ensuring children under my care are confident, kind and playful.

I have been DBS checked previously for my role at the school, however it has now expired so if a DBS check is required I would be happy to apply for an up to date certificate. Additionally, I do not currently hold a first aid qualification but if needed I would be very happy to obtain this.
