Sophie, occasional childcare in Scalby

My name is Sophie, I am 24 and have lived in Scarborough for a year and a half now. I have two children, a little girl aged two and a little boy who is 9 months old.

I absolutely love looking after and spending time with children! I am a stay at home mum to my two children, with no friends or family living in the area so the parenting is strictly down to me and my partner who works full time during the week.

I plan each and everyday around my children, we have a set routine and the free time I use effectively. My little girl has been talking since she was 18 months old so I spend a lot of time playing games which require communication on both mine and her side. When we stay in doors we do lots of actives such as; baking, painting, drawing, story time, dancing and playing with her toys. I also like to encourage her to be involved in the day to day chores I do, so she helps to put washing in the washing machine, wipe tables clean and sweep the floor and assist me with cooking/preparing meals - the are all things she likes and wants to do!

When the weather isn’t completely against us I like to spend a lot of time outdoors with the children rather than cooped up all the time. We spend a lot of time going to the park, activity centres, the sea front and duck ponds. The most loved thing for days out is to put waterproofs on and go play in a big field with football, kite or just run around in general.

I feel it’s very important to interact with children with everything from basics day to day living and just playing!

I believe routine and stability is very important and can adapt to which ever way is best and suited to the children and family.
