My daughter should be in bed and asleep (I hope) by the time I need to leave. She may stir and will need a cuddle, a song, perhaps a drink and someone to wait by the door while she falls asleep again. She may find it difficult to get back to sleep for someone she doesn't know, so you would need to be prepared to quietly but clearly help her settle.
I will be out giving a talk for my work and may not be able to respond immediately, so I need to know she is in capable hands.
The reason this is such short notice is because the person who was going to sit for me has had to deal with a family emergency.
