Dr, offer part-time childcare - HR9 Lea

Hi, hope you’re well. I wanted to ask about possible regular childcare.
I’m a doctor and will be working at University Hospitals of Leicester. Once my rota is confirmed, I may need childcare for some after-school/evening periods, long working days, weekends and occasional resident night shifts.

• Would you be comfortable staying overnight, roughly from 7:30/8pm until around 8:30/9am the following morning?
• Would you potentially be able to cover two consecutive nights occasionally if my rota required it?
• Would you also be available for weekends, long working days and after-school/evening childcare once my rota is confirmed?
• How much notice would you normally need?
• Do you have a current enhanced DBS?
• Do you have paediatric first-aid training/certification?
• Would you be happy to provide 1–2 recent childcare references?
• What ages of children have you looked after independently?
• Have you done overnight childcare before?

Could you also let me know your usual hourly rate?

As this could potentially become regular long-term work around my hospital rota, and the child would usually be asleep for most of an overnight shift, would you be open to a discounted regular rate or a fixed overnight/sleeping rate rather than charging the full hourly rate for every hour of the night?

I’m hoping to find someone reliable whom my child can get to know properly and who could help regularly around my rota.
