My name is Nicolle
I am a qualified early Years Practitioner and have been studying since school age. I grew up raising my little brother whilst my mum went back to university and I am always called on to look after family and children of friends.
In my most recent nursery job my roles where:
• To effectively deliver the early years foundation stage ensuring that the individual needs and interests of the children are met.
•To keep records of my key childrens development and learning journeys.
• Liaising with parents/carers and other key members of a childs life to discuss their development and progress.
•Covering lunch duties , preparing snacks and meals when the chef was unavailable.
•Planning activities and outings to stimulate the childrens interest including carrying out risk assessments.
One of my studies required me to create a fun idea for children in the nursery I was in placement, I decided to incorporate adventure Ted into the nursery, I filled a back pack with Ted, changes of clothes, and a diary for the parents to help the children fill in with what they did with Ted that week. It was a huge success amongst all parents children and even the Nursery who continued this even after I had left.
