Presentation

As a registered childminder my aim is to provide an outstanding service that allows all children under my care to learn and develop in a safe, secure, home-based environment. I am CSSIW registered to care for 6 boys and girls under 12 years of age. I will consider care for any child, no matter what their range of needs. I will assess the needs of your child and whether I can accommodate their needs, taking into consideration the needs of the children that I already care for. I offer settling in periods, where parents can choose to stay, or your children can be left in my care to ensure that they are comfortable within my setting. Settling in sessions will be free of charge.

My home consists of a lounge, kitchen, 3 bedrooms, bathroom and a separate toilet. Children will have access to the lounge, kitchen and toilet. I also have a secure garden area where the children can play under my supervision. My household consists of myself, my partner and our son who was born 25th May 2014. He is very sociable and loves playing with other children. My partner and I both hold a DBS certificate.

When organising activities, I take into consideration age, ability and stage of development. All activities provided will be stimulating and age and development appropriate. Some adult led activities include arts and crafts, walks and baking/cooking.
There are 2 playgrounds within walking distance from my home. Day trips will be arranged in advance and written parental permission will be required. I have my own car which will be used to pick up and drop off children if required. All vehicle documents can be seen on request.
I meet children’s needs whilst in my care by providing times and places for rest or sleep should they require it. Meals are eaten together at the table. I have highchairs/boosters available. It is the parents’ choice if you would prefer to provide meals for your child or if you would like me to provide the meals.

My first language is English. If I have children in my care who speak another language, I will endeavour to learn a few key phrases which will also be introduced to all of the children in my care.

I do not have fixed hours of work. My hours of work will be negotiated on an individual basis with the parents and a contract signed with these stated hours. I am registered to work from 7am until 7pm, Monday to Friday, including bank holidays. I am able to work hours that fit shift patterns.
I will have contracts, which are legally binding, and which must be signed by both parties before care can start.
