Children are cheerful, energetic, enthusiastic and loving!
I am Western Health and Social Care Trust registered childminder and a member of NICMA. I am fully insured and qualified in compulsory and many other child topics. I am a mother of two boys aged 22 and 25 who work full time. All members of my household are CRB checked.
Being a parent myself, I understand the difficulty of leaving your child in someone else's care. I operate a 'homelike' professional setting, meeting the needs of both the child and the parent being my main priority. I provide a safe and caring environment and being dedicated and sensitive to children's needs. I cater for children's basic needs such as assisting with feeding, dressing and listening so as to be capable and flexible of handling unexpected situations if and when they may occur. I provide a happy, secure and consistent environment for your child during some of the most important stages of their development and offering children and siblings of all ages opportunities to play, socialise and learn from. Caring for small groups of children, I can take into account of every child's individual needs. Children are cared for in a family environment with familiar surroundings where the child can feel comfortable, safe and content.
Offering real life experiences such as shopping, cooking, picnics, visiting parks and libraries enhance development and I find that the children love these outings. I often encourage spontaneous play and I am more relaxed than some more formal childcare facilities.
My goal is to provide each child with learning opportunities through play in a caring, stable 'home from home' setting resulting in happy, optimistic and confident children. I adopt a positive behaviour management policy whereby I do not and will not under any circumstances use any form of physical punishment. Parents will always be informed of any incidents and actions taken. Rewards will be in the form of giving responsibility, positive praise etc... This kind of attention improves children's self-esteem and helps them to realise they are loved and cared for. Children are full of wonder and while in my care their time will be filled with busy exploration with care, trust and respect being a two way occurrence.
