Mari Carmen, professional childminder in Fenton

Dear family:
My name is Mari Carmen, I’m 22 years old and I’m from Spain. I live in a house, which is located in a village of the Communituy of Madrid, called Casarrubuelos. It is nearby 30 km from the capital. It is a small and calm village.
I live with my father’s parents, Mercedes and Tomás, and mi father, Tomás. My mum died when I was five years old, so my father and I decided to move to my granparent´s house. Apart from have my father and granparents in Casarrubuelos, all my father´s family live here so we see each other every day.
Currently my granfather is retired from many years and my fahter is unemployed although he has always worked as a welder in a family studio.
In a few weeks I am finishing my Infant Education studies and I think that is the best momento to spend sometime learning English. It is a great personal and profesional opportunity. When I will tell my family my decisión of leaving, they will support me although it will be hard having me so far.
I have always been very confident with my ideas or decisions. They know that it is a great opportunity to grow in my proffesion and they have never forbidden me doing something that is beneficiary for my future. I have always been self-sufficient so they know that I will desenvolve myself in other country. In a future I would like to continue training in education, includying disabled kids.
I hace got a lot of hobbies, but there is one that stand out for the rest, the music. I play the saxo since I was ten. I started plating the guitar with seven years, but I wasn´t as happy as I thought. When I was ten, a Band of Music had been created in my village so I decided to sign and since then, I spend my bests moments in there.
In my free time I like to spend time with my friends and family, going to the cinema, visiting places that I don´t know, going party… I like to spend my weekends with them. About travelling, I have been travelling during the three last years alone or with the Band of Music. I have always met new friends and I have million of stories to tell to my family.
The main reason because of I would like to be Au pair it’s to improve my English. Nowdays is very important to now this language and more in my profession. I want to grow up and don´t become stagnant in my job. So the best way it’s to learn English and, in my opinión, the best place to do it is in a native country. This is not the only motiv I have to be au pair, also I love meeting new people and living new experiences. What a better experience than this!
My passion for seeing grow up kids and teaching them all that I know, started with my cousins. I am the oldest of five cousins. Then we have Irene, who is 11; her sister Alba, who is 9; then we have the family’s boys, Sergio with 6 and Juanfran with 1 year old.
When Irene had born I was 9 years old. Her parents worked in a bar so I had to take care of her. This is the reason of my passion for children. Since that moment, I decided to dedicated my live to kids and that it is what I am doing. One year ago I got the Free Time Monitor title. I had been working one summer with kids between 6 and 16 years in Asturias. It was an unforgettable experience.
Apart from this experience as monitor, I have always care kids from my family and as a nanny for other families. In this momento, I am doing three months of practises in a kindergarten with kids between 0-3 years.
I consider myself a responsable and reliable person. I like laughing and having fun with kids and make them enjoy above all.
