I am a very passionate practitioner in education with a calm and positive attitude. I inspire pupils to always strive to be the best they can be. It is important to me to promote British values wherever possible and give children the sense that they are part of a wider community. I feel privileged to be involved with and watch students become proactive, enthusiastic learners.
I have led many interventions including phonics, SAT’s preparation and targeted maths groups. These were consistently a success and pupils made considerable progress as a result. I have also been in charge of testing for a particular class, for example, carrying out Benchmarking, Sandwell testing and the Better Reader Partnership. Alongside working as a general classroom/intervention teaching assistant in Key Stage 1 and 2, I also work as a play leader at the after school club. Furthermore, I was the 1:1 support of a child with autism and ADHD for four months. Part of this role involved regularly liaising with outside professionals and transitioning him into a specialist school. I have up to date safeguarding, first aid and prevent training as well as attending a Speech and Language Therapy course in September 2017.
