Sophie, professional childminder - NE35 Boldon colliery

Hello, my name is Sophie and I’m 19 years old. I’m currently in my first year of university studying BA Primary Education Prior to university I studied Early years at Gateshead college, during the two years I gained experience working with babies to the age of 12. However over the summer I joined my local council and started a summer school programme. I worked and carried out activities with children from the age of five to young adults. This programme catered to every individuals needs, meaning I was lucky enough to gain experience with children with SEND. In order to become an outstanding Child carer, I believe you must have a want to help and assist the children with their learning, development and individual care needs. You must be prepared to take on the responsibility of the children in your care, creating enabling activities and a routine which encourages a positive and enabling safe environment. I believe I am a very hard-working, responsible and friendly girl who has a passion to chase her dreams in becoming a primary school educator. In order to gain extra experience I would be honoured to have this role and be able to help your family whenever I am available.
