Im a 19 year old with a passion to care for others especially those of a young age. I have had previous experience looking after a number of children from the ages of 3 months - 8 years. I am a caring, compassionate and loving individual who believes children are the biggest priority. I believe the way children are cared for has a very big impact on who they develop to become in later life therefore it is vital that the care they receive is of a consistent high stranded by every individual who is responsible over them. Whilst looking after children i have been involved with keeping them entertained, providing meals for them, changing nappies/toilet duties and also have been helping the older children with there school work.
As well as having a kind and caring nature with children i also believe that there should be a balance. Children should be aware of their limits as sometime especially with new people they like to test their limits. Rules should be put in place upon induction with the older children, so they know that there will be consequences if rules are broken. Discipline does not mean shouting at children as that has never proven to be effective for anyone. Rather than this, an area for time out should be identified so that the child can have time to reflect on their actions.
