Barbora, professional childminder in Sheffield S7

I would like to introduce myself. My name is Barbora Kupková and I am a master student of teaching biology at the Faculty of science, Charles University in Prague.
I have quite many experiences with teaching, lecturing and working with children of different ages. As a trainee teacher, I taught science to children aged from 12 to 15 for two months at a school which had a high number of students with behavioural disorders, so my work required a lot of individual approach and tutoring and I learned to work with children with various disabilities.
This year I also taught biology to students aged 15 to 19 for one month. It was very hard for individual preparation, but I really enjoyed discussions with older students about nature and even about many other topics. This experience was very useful and interesting.
I also have experience with small children, because I work as a lecturer at the National museum in Prague. I work with children aged 3 to 12. I train each class of children for one and half hours. With this kind of experience, I can see how the role of teacher is important in our life. I trained many classes from many preschools and primary schools and I have seen how different children from each school are.
Two years ago, I have done Erasmus exchange programme in Finland. I studied at the Faculty of Education at the University of Lapland. There I have seen their great educational system and did many observations in lessons. It was the best experience in my life. I find living and studying abroad the best opportunity, which leads me to be more self-contained and independent.

I also have other hobbies than teaching and nature. I sing and this passion is tending me since my birth. I won some international competitions. But I love to sing with my kind jazz band the most. I also like cycling, climbing, doing yoga and reading books.
