Carmela, registered childminder - BH8 Holdenhurst

My name is Carmela and I'm a fully qualified and accredited Ofsted registered childminder since 2010, located in the Muscliff area of Bournemouth, close to Castle Lane. I work with my husband and we have three daughters aged 9, 8 and 3. Together we enjoy lots of fun activities at home and in the garden as well as visiting our local parks, rivers, beaches, libraries and children's centers.

Before having my eldest daughter I was a Teaching Assistant working with children on the Autism spectrum aged 3-16 and leader of a Saturday morning respite club for children with learning disabilities aged 4-14. I have also have experience working with children in reception year whilst gaining my Early Years Teacher qualification.

I offer a warm and welcoming, home from home environment which enables children to learn and develop through play and interaction. My main aims are to ensure each child in my care has the opportunity to reach their full potential whilst also providing their parents with the reassurance they need to know that their little ones are safe and happy.

I see children as individual, capable and competent learners. I aim to nurture children’s instinctive desire to explore, enquire and investigate by supporting them to experience and discover the world around them and by encouraging their natural curiosity and sense of wonder. By valuing their independence, respecting their uniqueness and meeting their need to feel safe and loved, children also discover a sense of who they are and what they can accomplish and ultimately feel empowered to reach their full potential.
