Hello and welcome to Amy's Amigos Childminding!

I am Amy . I have 10 years experience working as a nursery nurse with children in day nurseries, as well as a teachers assistant in schools and now in my own home as a childminder.
Since I was 18 until now all my qualifications have been geared towards children, child development and child psychology.
My whole career has involved working with children.

I live in Fairwater Cardiff. I am happily married with two beautiful children. My eldest is 7 years old and goes to Peter Lea primary school in Fairwater Cardiff and my youngest is 2 years old and is at home with me.

I am a CSSIW registered childminder and a member of Pacey.

I am a calm, caring and trustworthy personand I have experience working with children from newborn up to 12 years old.

Being a childminder was always a dream of mine. I wanted to be able to offer flexible home from home care in a safe family based environment.
I love working with children in small groups and on a one to one basis. I'm able to give more attention and care than a nursery/school environment and this builds the child's confidence and independence.

I enjoy days out with the children visiting

>parks such as Victoria, Thomson, llandaff fields and cosmeston lake.

>beaches such as Penarth, Barry and Ogmore.

>farms such as Ameilia trust, St fagons farm.

>The library in the Green (5 minute walk from the house)

>St Fagons (it is less than 5 minutes in the car)

>Tots Time toddler group every Wednesday

>Ely and careau children's centre every Thursday

When at home I have a variety of resources, toys and games to meet the needs of different children. Children can choose what to play with. I follow the children's interests, wants and needs first of all. I strongly believe that children learn through play and exploration.

Throughout the year we will celebrate different cultures and special occasions through arts and crafts, messy play and cooking. I really enjoy doing crafts and cooking with children, their is so many learning opportunities as well as having fun.

Children will have access to the garden throughout the day all through the year.
It has a small wooden play house, swing, trampoline, sandpit, grass area and patio area for trikes and ride ons.

As a mum of two I have experience with breast fed babies/children, BLW-baby led weaning and baby wearing.
From working in nurseries I equally have experience with formula fed babies, feeding babies purée/mash foods and introducing finger foods.

I have references from current and previous parents so please ask.
