Alexandra, sitter - BA2 Bathampton

Hi my name is Alex, I am 20 years of age and I am from Swansea. I am currently living in Bath, studying Psychology at Bath Spa University. With this course, it will help me widen my knowledge, my experience and will take me that step closer to becoming a speech and language therapist.

Before I started university I attended my local college where I studied Childcare, Learning & Development, Level 3. I was lucky enough to have 4 placement's throughout my time here. This included placements at a day care nursery, a special needs unit,
a primary school with ages 6-7 and a reception class within a reception (ages 3-4). I finished college in 2013, with 3 distinctions (BTEC equivalent to 3 A A-Levels) a paediatric first aid certificate and a CRB.

This summer I was able to work as a Children's Representative in Cyprus for Thomson. I was a high season children's rep which gave me the opportunity to work at the busiest time of the year as this is when the children finish at school for summer. Within the kids club, I was able to get creative, silly, childlike, messy, funny and I even got to dress up as a pirate! In the kids club I played lots and lots of games and activities - very handy for those rainy days here in the UK.
Working for Thomson gave me the chance to meet many lovely families and to make memories that will always make me smile.

As a childcarer, my qualities are:
I am a caring, bubbly person who is always happy to help. I am punctual, organised and polite. I like to go out of my way for others and I think of myself as an all round happy person who is welcoming and kind.

The type of work I am looking for is babysitting, nanny work or just helping around the home. As I am a student at university, the work that will be most suitable for me is evening and weekend hours.
