About me:
Hello! My name is Eve I am an Animal Care student from Arbroath Angus. I am a part-time Nanny, but I also babysit, tutor and am happy to do housework / clean and help parents out. I have early years childcare and babysitting experience plus I am also DBS checked. I am currently in the process of a part-time first aid training course and childcare qualifications courses.
I love caring for children, helping parents, and nannying alongside my animal care studies. I have a keen interest in early childhood education, psychology, and Montessori methods. I enjoy playing, creating, and teaching children about the world. I have 3 cats and 2 dogs who are my world, and I would be happy to care for other small furries whilst on the job. I have experience with special needs and know the patience needed when interacting with children with additional learning or complex emotional needs.
My memorable experiences - caring for children:
My past childcare experiences have been very valuable to me for example. In 2016 used to babysit a 3yr old girl, and we quickly became best friends. Though I was there to watch 3 children, her older brothers were always preoccupied and would often leave us to engage in imaginative play. I would bring her books from my collection of poetry-picture books which she very much enjoyed. We would also draw, and dance all before she passed out and I tucked her into bed. This was very enjoyable for me, and I think her too.
Another valuable experience I had caring for children took place at a nursery in England I was a volunteer at. I was placed in the baby room, and I loved caring for a few 6-month to 1-and-a-half-year-olds. One time stands out to me in particular, as I helped identify that a 1-year-old child was ill. I had got to know one little girl the days before this and had grown quite fond of her. She had a confident attitude and a cute sense of humour. On the morning that she had come to nursery she seemed a little sad. But lots of cuddles and play soon cheered her up, but it was not the same at lunchtime. Usually, she loved her food and would dig right in, but this day she was asking to be fed and not eating much. The other nursery nurses said this was odd but I thought something was not right. After lunch, as the other babies played happily, she sat on my knee in the corner of the room. As I held her I realized that her temperature felt very high – I quickly reported it to the other members of staff who took it seriously. It turned out she had a fever and had to be sent home, the nursery staff were very surprised at her temperature and almost had to call an ambulance – her dad came to pick her up though and she recovered very well soon after.
Work Experience:
