Hi, I'm Lauren and I have recently just finished my A Levels and I am looking for a bit of experience in regards to caring for children as my goal for the future is to be a primary school teacher. Although I am only 18 many say I seem mature for my age and that I have 'matured before my time'.

When I have previously looked after children I take the compassionate approach and make sure the child is happy within themselves and while at home. I have worked with nursery children and foundation children when I have done work experience in schools.

I have also looked after close family members friends children. I wouldn't like to raise my voice at a child as sometimes I think that escalates things, I would reason with them (tailoring to the child's age) and ensure whatever was wrong gets resolved. I sometimes enjoy doing crafts with the children to get them to be creative. I sing and play guitar so I would be willing to sing to them. Sometimes I read stories to the children if it is close to their bedtimes etc to get them to be sleepy instead of being energetic.
