Hello! I'm Megan and I am an English Literature graduate from the University of Exeter. I am a warm, friendly and caring person, with a good sense of humour and a love of fun and adventure. I am an avid reader and creative writer, and I sing and play the guitar. I love to be creative, whether that's drawing or painting, crafting or embroidery, or cooking and experimenting! I live permanently in Exeter with my boyfriend and my Puggle called Dora.
I have experience working with children from the ages of 2-13. I worked in a Primary School for three years, spending most of my time with KS2 (ages 6-7), and also with the children in the nursery where I would support the lunch club (ages 2-3). I also worked in the After School Club, giving me the opportunity to work with a range of ages from as little as 4 through to 11. The After School Club environment was more play-based and focused around offering the children somewhere to relax and have fun after the school day. I also did regular babysitting outside of school hours for parents needing some help in the evenings/weekends, or through the school holidays. I went on to work in a Secondary School for a year, supporting children from ages 11-13. Here I specialised in working with children with special education needs (SEN), supporting them through their classes and helping with day-to-day caring issues. I am DBS checked and have also taken a paediatric First Aid course in 2012. I am Food Safety Hygiene trained from my work in the After School Club where we would provide an afternoon snack.
Due to finishing my studies, I am very flexible over the summer (June to August), and can be around for nursery/school pick-up etc. and more than happy to help with dinner time/bathing/bedtime routine. I am happy to work weekends too if necessary. I'm more than happy to help support with other housework chores too, such as washing, cleaning, cooking and caring for pets.
I have applied to study a Master's degree abroad, so depending on the outcome of that, I will be unavailable from September onwards. Therefore, casual help and babysitting would be best currently, so as not to let families down in a long-term agreement.
