Dear Sir/Madam,

Hello, my name is Phoebie and I wish to apply for babysitting and part-time helping children to help earn some extra money outside of my school hours. I really enjoy working with children, as I find it a very rewarding job.

I have recently completed my GCSEs and, as expected, I have gained 11 pass grades ranging from A* to C. I believe I can put many aspects of my results to practical use in this role, especially my A* English grades. Therefore I may help with any homework or extra learning the child/children may have. Following my GCSE results, I have successfully enrolled at McAuley Catholic Sixth Form, and am completing further studies in English Language, English Literature and German.

I am flexible, friendly and patient and am eager to gain new skills within this exciting role. Following completion of my exams in the summer, I worked voluntarily within an infant school for a month which helped me expand upon, and start practically applying what I have learned during my studies. This work experience helped me to become a confident communicator and I enjoyed working with and meeting new people. I also have a younger sister, who I have babysat and looked after on countless occasions. We enjoy playing games, creating our own, colouring, painting, doing homework, watching television-(almost any task a child may enjoy) and I know from being so close how easy I can make bonds with children. I have developed excellent relationships with both children and adults; I believe this will enable me to be successful within this role.

I see this role as the perfect position for me to make the most of my recently acquired skills, whilst also allowing me to develop a range of new skills specific to this role. Despite my limited work experience, I believe my eagerness to learn coupled with my hard-working and friendly nature will help massively.
