My name is Anita and I am a parent and grandparent. I have raised two children who now have children and currently have one of my daughters' living with me and my 10 month old granddaughter.

I have worked within education for over 25 years, firstly as a support worker with young people with learning disabilities. I then trained as a teacher in post 16 education and run several projects for young people with challenging behaviour.

Since my redundancy in 2009 from Further Education at Exeter College, I work as a freelance tutor for a variety of training organisations. I also work as an Intervention Worker for Social Service working with looked after children and currently support a family in their home who are about to adopt 2 young children.

I am a patient and caring person would can rise to the challenge of working with different age groups. This is proven by my personal experience of being a parent as well as my professional skills gained in teaching and working in social care.

I am a creative person who can act quickly with children and young people to strike up a rapport. I am organised and will always have several activities ready that are based on the interest of the child, for example, a six year old boy I recently worked with liked Ninja Turtles. I have my own Ninja figures that belong to my own children. I used them to engage him as well as for a cooking project which involved making pancakes, which is the food that Ninja's eat!
