Presentation

I have just finished my first year at the University of Glasgow and am looking for work over the summer. I am very hard-working and motivated and so need something enjoyable and rewarding to do during my summer holidays. I am available between the 15th of June and the 1st of September.
I am looking for any kind of care work and am available to work at any time from early morning to late at night.

Previous Experience:
I have experience as a Tennis Coach Aid at Kilgraston School. My responsibilities included arriving prior to practice to set up drills and to take students (ages four to sixteen) through a warm up. I needed to be able to follow and convey instructions to students and participate in demonstrations. I was often responsible for a small group of students. It was of great importance that I encouraged the children to improve their skills and to enjoy sport.
I also volunteered as a Lifeguard at Kilgraston Swimming Pool where I supervised children from ages three to thirteen, enforced swimming pool rules, evacuated the swimming pool at the end of the session, ensured safety of all participants at all times and occasionally had to assert self and other members of staff as authority figures.
At school there was a programme set up by members of my class called Big Friendly Girls where each girl in younger years was allowed to sign up for a mentor. We would act as a big sister to our assigned Little Friendly Girls and help them with any problems throughout the year, both social and academic and act as a friendly face and someone to talk to from an older year.
I also completed the course for Sports Leadership (certification can be provided). This involved learning how to take a group of individuals through a sports lesson, how to act as an effective leader and help people become involved in sport and improve their skills. As I did this at school most of our sessions were working with children and to complete the course I had to do ten hours of voluntary work helping with sports classes. This was an extremely enjoyable and rewarding endeavor.

Ambitions and Aspirations:
I aim to finish Masters Degree with distinction and go on to take part in a postgraduate degree to further my knowledge in the field of chemistry and research and to develop new and more efficient treatments for terminal diseases.

Qualities:
Responsible; role as lifeguard involved looking after young children in a potentially dangerous environment.
Dependable; position as tennis captain involved being relied upon to attend practices and matches and to inform team members of events.
Committed; being a member of the netball team meant attending frequent practice sessions and regularly travelling to matches.
Trustworthy; role as "Big Friendly Girl" meant listening to members of younger years in confidence and helping them with social and academic problems.
Punctual; always aim to be on time/early.
Motivated; aimed for and achieved the highest possible grades, even after receiving unconditional offers for university.
Reliable; always readily available and punctual, demonstrated during time as a Lifeguard and Tennis Captain.
Approachable; whilst in final year at high school younger students would often come to me to ask questions or for someone to talk to.
Cleanliness; laboratory work often deals with bacteria cultures where working in an hygienic and sterilised environment is of utmost importance.
Imaginative; spent much time when younger writing stories.
Fun-loving; enjoy playing games going to the parks in Perth with younger family members
Helpful; more than willing to help with housework and homework
