I am a 22 year old female who studied at the University of Bedfordshire where I have received a BA (Hons) degree in Early Years Education. I graduate from this institu-tion in July 2016 where I am expected to achieve a degree grade 2:1 (Upper Second Class Division).

I have been working with children since the age of 16, where I have cared for children from birth to the age of 6. I feel that I have a strong passion for working with young children during their early years, and believe through the important art of play and effective adult support a child can highly achieve.

In May 2016 I completed my University degree where I studied Early Years Education. I graduate from this institution in July 2016 as a Level 6 Early Years Practitioner with an expected degree award of 2:1. This degree enables me to work with children from Birth to Five Years (with a degree of flexibility for slightly older children) within a range of Early Years Settings. I have completed a number of units during my three years at university, which have allowed me to gain a thorough understanding of early years care and the EYFS curriculum. To support this, I have completed a number of placements in private day care nurseries, charity run pre-schools and local primary schools which have further allowed the relevant experience and understanding of working within an Early Years setting.

Whilst completing my dissertation, I have been observing and participating in practice within a nursery for hearing impaired children. Here I am learning the importance of inclusion and ways to differentiate the curriculum for each individual child. I have completed research not only into how learning is tailored to support hearing-impaired students, but also how it differs from that of students with other special educational needs.

Alongside my degree I am also working as a child-minder for a number of families. This job involves me picking up the children from school and day care, assisting the completion of homework and the organisation of activities for free time and play.
