Bethany, sitter - S7 Sheffield

My name is Bethany Pitt and I am 19 years old. I currently go to university of sheffield reading philosophy and religion. My course isn't very demanding so I am only in for lectures two days a week (Tuesday and Thursday), so I am looking for extra work to fill my time. I have worked with children since I was 16. I have been leaders at children's clubs and have babysat for most of my neighbours. During the babysitting I would help them with homework and help them with their bedtime routine. I am experienced with children from bad homes as well, my family fosters so we often have many children coming to live with us in our home and i've also worked in an orphanage in India. However my biggest achievement for me is working for camp america this summer where I feel I have made the most improvement as a leader and carer. I was in charge of 10 young ladies for two weeks, caring for them. I can definitely say that I bonded with them and hope that I affected their lives like they affected mine. So from this experience I have learnt many games for those times where you needed to fill a space and I allowed myself to become enthusiastic and silly so the children would join in. Obviously there were times you had to be strict in order to get them to go to sleep and eat their healthy food, but I like to be a relaxed carer so they would feel comfortable around me.
